Download | Duration: 01:46:29
Panel Discussion, Moderated by Rev. Pam Kurtz
The City of Alameda's Charter Article XXVI, together with Alameda Municipal Code Chapter XXX, Article III, "Multiple Dwelling Units", embody what is colloquially referred to as "Measure A." Do we all really know what Measure A does? And if it is amended, what will happen then?
Format: Opposing positions are invited to provide two speakers, each of whom will be allotted 15 minutes for their presentation. A coin toss will be used to select the opening speaker, and after the first hour, there will be 45-60 minutes of open forum questions and discussion from the audience, directed to the presenters. The event will last no more than two hours.
Context: There has been a lot of discussion, for several years now, about development, redevelopment, growth, and its economic and environmental impact on the community of Alameda. There has also been a lot of talk about providing "affordable housing" in Alameda. What does it all really mean? How does it affect you and the quality of your residency in Alameda? Find out about Measure A in a fair and balanced forum setting, where you can have the opportunity to ask questions and make observations.
